Walton Blockchain Institute Started its First Lecture, as part of South Korea Ministry of Science and ICT’s Plan to Cultivate 10,000 blockchain Talents
On Sept 3, 2018, the Walton Blockchain Institute officially started the first class of the six-month educational program. Upon program completion, the institute will offer students job recommendation as well as support for startup.
As part of South Korea Ministry of Science and ICT’s plans to cultivate 10,000 blockchain talents, Walton Blockchain Institute together with Korean Standards Association will jointly cultivate blockchain talents in South Korea. On September 3, the first lecture of the six-month course was started in Walton Blockchain Insititute after an entrance ceremony.
In June, the South Korean government announced the Blockchain Technology Development Strategy, which includes a plan to invest KRW 100 billion in the next 10 years to promote the blockchain industry development. The course is a part of the blockchain technology development strategy fully funded by South Korean Government. The course is scheduled for 8 hours per day for 6 months, which aims to cultivate talents for immediate employment and entrepreneurship.
After application collection and strict interview process, 42 students were finally selected to form two classes in the city of Seoul and Daejeon.
Before the first lecture, the students showed awareness and intent as well as the great concern for the blockchain industry during the self-introduction session at the entrance ceremony. “I am going to be the Steve Jobs in Blockchain industry within the next 10 years”, said one student in Seoul class when introducing himself in the ceremony, building up the atmosphere of the scene.
“Education is an important part in talent cultivation, however, we also plan to provide one-stop support of employment and entrepreneurship for our students”, said the responsible person of Waltonchain Blockchain Institute during the ceremony.
He also indicated, as part of the concrete implementation, the unique “Chain Incubation Program” of the Walton Blockchain Institute attached great significance to the blockchain ecosystem construction. It is worthy to be looking forward to.
