Walton Blockchain Institute and Geeks Academy Signed MoU in Education
On August 27, Walton Blockchain Institute and Geeks Academy (Italy) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in South Korea. This MoU starts efforts encouraging contacts and boosting cooperation in joint programs and international studies between higher and vocational education institutions in Italy and Korea.
Geeks Academy established in 2016 is an ever-growing network, an Italian pioneer in digital education and career enhancement specialized in today’s most in-demand skills: coding, cybersecurity, data science, gaming and blockchain.
Walton Blockchain Institute established in 2018 is the only non-profit organization for blockchain education recognized by the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea. It is also a vocational education institution recognized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea. The Institute carries out the Industry 4.0 Professional Training project financed by the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea with a special focus on professional blockchain training. In 2018–2019, it completed a blockchain talent training program for the Ministry of Science and ICT and Korean Standards Association (KSA). As of February 2019, 57 students were trained. The plan is to train over 200 blockchain specialists within this program in the next three years. In April 2019, the Institute also launched the Blockchain Education Experience Center project and plans to train more than 1,000 junior to senior experts yearly.
