“New IoT World, Blockchain Future!”: Waltonchain attended the 84th Internet of Things X Lecture in Shenzhen
On May 19, 2018, the 84th Internet of Things X Lecture on the theme of “New IoT World, Blockchain Future!” was held in China Academy of Science & Technology Development, Shenzhen. The Lecture was hosted by Nanshan Science and Technology Innovation Service Center, jointly organized by Shenzhen Association of Internet of Things (AIOT) and Hunan Loudi City Chamber of Commerce. Waltonchain and Shenzhen Anti-Counterfeiting Association co-hosted the Lecture. Waltonchain Director of Operations Mr. Ou Yonghao (Ou Zhunjie) attended the Lecture on behalf of Waltonchain and delivered a speech on the theme of blockchain and the Internet of Things. Participants include the Joint Executive President of Shenzhen AIOT Mr. Lin Xin, the Joint Secretary General of Shenzhen AIOT Ms. Hu Yanfen and Secretary General of the Hunan Loudi City Chamber of Commerce Mr. Zhang Kai.
Shenzhen Association of Internet of Things（AIOT）is a voluntarily formed IoT industry non-profit social organization jointly established by industry chain related enterprises, research institutes; telecom operators China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom; manufacturers of high-end sensors, MEMS, smart sensors, sensor gateway devices; middleware manufacturers for UHF RFID, active RFID, RFID and Internet related terminals and equipment; and software and information service providers.
The Lecture discussed such topics as how companies can change the current government-bound innovation, how the Internet of Things will promote China’s development, the integration of RFID with blockchain and its application in the apparel, car rental and express delivery industries.
“The blockchain technology has made everything simple by establishing a decentralized trust mechanism. Waltonchain is built using RFID combined with the blockchain technology to enable batch reading, fast scanning of the data. It has the advantages of anti-fouling, high durability, reusability, etc., and therefore can be widely applied in the apparel, logistics, food traceability industry and other related fields. For example: Waltonchain’s technology can be applied for goods inventory and shorten the time-consuming process from 30–60 minutes to just 30 seconds, which saves enormous amount of time and thus saves labor costs.” said Mr. Ou Yonghao during his speech.
Mr. Ou Yonghao introduced Waltonchain’s blockchain + IoT solution in detail. The application cases which use the combination of RFID and blockchain through the independently developed chips to provide in-depth transformation of the traditional industry structure were highly recognized by the participants. The enterprise representatives of Shenzhen AIOT and members of Hunan Loudi City Chamber of Commerce all expressed the hope that in the future they can cooperate with Waltonchain to implement the blockchain + IoT technology.
Hu Yanfen, the Joint Secretary General of Shenzhen AIOT, also said that 2018 will be the first year of large-scale application in the IoT industry. In the future, the Internet of Things will penetrate into every walk of our lives. This will be a trillion yuan level market space that requires the joint development of enterprises right away. After the Lecture, Mr. Lin Xin, the Joint Executive President, and Hu Yanfen, the Joint Secretary General of Shenzhen AIOT, also had an in-depth discussion with Mr. Ou Yonghao on the future cooperation direction. Mr. Ou Yonghao hoped that the industrial solutions provided by Waltonchain could be used to break through the existing industry structure, to help member companies accelerate the transformation and upgrade their operating models.
With the continuous development of technology, the Internet of Things will continue to integrate with the blockchain and establish a new business model. Waltonchain has always adhered to the idea of utilizing the chip core technology to empower the blockchain technology. Waltonchain will focus on building a blockchain technology for real-world application in physical industry by integrating blockchain and the IoT at the application level.
