Now that the Fully Operational Waltonchain Mainnet released and the official wallets upgraded, we have introduced several changes community users need to know about. Here are our answers to most frequently asked questions.

1. I have a WTCT address. When I created it, I got 12 words for my mnemonic phrase. The new wallet is asking for 24 words. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A: What concerns the existing addresses on Ethereum and WTCT, you can unlock them in the new WTC Wallet software with the existing:

1) keystore + password or

2) private key (a 64-character string of digits and letters).

Please note that our tech team has upgraded the algorithm and the new mnemonic phrase has 24 words. Now, using the old mnemonic, you can only unlock your addresses in the old software.

2. I opened my old ETH/WTCT address in the new software and my balance is 0. Why?

A: Before the mainnet token swap and given you haven’t mined to the old addresses on the Fully Operational Waltonchain Mainnet, your balance is 0; this is normal. All token payouts for the mined WTCT have been completed in full on May 17, 2019. Please see ‘How to access your miner payout’ here. Token swap from ETH addresses to mainnet addresses will be announced separately; stay tuned to our official Twitter and website for the latest announcements and news.

3. What address should I mine to on the mainnet?

A: You have two options. You can unlock mirrors of your existing ETH/WTCT addresses with your existing private keys and mine to them. Otherwise, you can create a new mainnet address and mine to it. Just be sure to keep your mnemonics/private keys safe.

4. How do I setup a Master Node on mainnet?

A: There is no verification procedure for Master Nodes on mainnet. When block #200,000 is reached, after the mainnet token swap or after you mined 5,000 WTC on mainnet, MN (including GMN & SMN) holders will start to automatically receive the respective reward for each mined block. Please see ‘Timeline for block reward change’ here.

5. What wallet shall I mine with?

A: Waltonchain community miners can start mining with the below updated version of WTC Wallet Windows: https://github.com/WaltonChain/WaltonWallet_Win

6. I have several GPUs, why does the mining software use only one GPU or all at once but with low load?

A: This is because our mining software supports SOLO mode only: it’s either one GPU with high load or all installed GPUs with load equivalent to that of a single GPU.

7. In WTC Wallet Windows I have 0 peers connected all the time, what is wrong?

A: Please check if:

1. All Windows updates have been installed and OS is up to date.

2. System time is automatic.

3. Firewall exceptions include WTC Wallet.

8. Is it better to have a whitelisted IP?

A: It doesn’t matter.

9. Will you release mining instructions without GUI?

A: No. KIRINMINER is coming; it will become the basic mining method.

10. Slight problem on my Android wallet. There is no “send” option on the WTC but there is on the WTCT option. How can I send WTC?

A: Please note that only the latest WTC Wallet supports WTC transfer. The WTC supported in it are the mainnet WTC (before the mainnet token swap, they can only be obtained through mining on the Fully Operational Waltonchain Mainnet). All WTC Wallet apps do not support ERC-20 transfers; for this purpose you can use MyEtherWallet (MEW) or any other ERC-20-compatible wallet.
