Brief on the 1st Blockchain Reference Architecture National Standard Work Group Meeting in 2019
In December 2017, according to the Notice of the Standardization Administration of China on the 4th National Standard Setting/Revision Plan [2017] №128, the Information Technology — Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology — Reference Architecture (the Reference Architecture) was approved as the first national standard in the field of blockchain. On August 1, 2018, the National Standard Kick-off Meeting of the Reference Architecture was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. At the meeting, National Standard Formulation Work Program was drafted.
On April 3, 2019, China Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI) successfully held the 2019 1st work group meeting of Information Technology — Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology — Reference Architecture National Standard in Shanghai. Silictec Chairman Mo Bing, Silictec Vice Chairman Wei Songjie attended the meeting among blockchain enterprise representatives. Other participants included well-known enterprises and blockchain industry experts such as Baidu, Tencent, JD.com, Ping An Insurance.
CESI believes that standardization is a key breakthrough for wide application of the blockchain technology. Standardization can specify the application of blockchain in various scenarios and provide certain guidance to the industry, so as to accelerate the innovation and application of blockchain globally.
Silictec has always paid high attention to formulation of national standards and actively participates in the international standardization work. With years of industry experience and technical strength in the field of blockchain, Silictec actively connects with CESI and contributes to formulation of the relevant international, domestic and industry standards on blockchain.
The meeting defined the content of the Reference Architecture National Standard and planned the upcoming work. Together with other formulators of the Reference Architecture National Standard, Mo Bing and Wei Songjie conducted deep research and discussion on the relevant blockchain terminology, user profile, functional profile and system profile, and also communicated about the recent international and domestic progress in blockchain standardization.
The progress of the Reference Architecture national standard formulation is of great significance to the development of China’s blockchain industry. In the following national standardization work, China will pay close attention to the international standard research, continue to maintain a rigorous and scientific attitude, widely absorb the advanced industry experience, and make important contribution to the healthy development of the blockchain industry.
As Mo Bing said, formulation of national standards for blockchain is crucial for the future prosperity and development of the blockchain industry. In the future, Silictec will continue to work together with CESI and other institutions to jointly promote the development of China’s blockchain standards, accelerate blockchain standardization, promote deep application and popularization of blockchain in various fields and contribute to build a healthy and orderly global large-scale blockchain ecosystem.
