Announcement on Waltonchain Mainnet Upgrade
Dear global Waltonchain supporters,
On June 18, 2019 (UTC+8), Waltonchain Mainnet will be upgraded. We hereby announce that users will have to download the updated source code (https://github.com/WaltonChain/WaltonChain_Gwtc_Src) and use the new full-node wallet (WTC Wallet Windows v1.1.1: https://github.com/WaltonChain/WaltonWallet_Win). Existing versions of the wallet for other operating systems will not be required to upgrade.
When Mainnet reaches block No. 149,500, it will switch to the new version of X11 ordering algorithm. If you fail to update the software, starting from block No. 149,500, you will not be able to get mining rewards. The new version of X11 ordering is based on the locked block height algorithm. It uses fixed seed data to calculate X11 order so as to prevent cheating and realize fair mining. When Mainnet reaches block No. 149,500, it will be upgraded to fix code that would otherwise allow the X11 algorithm to be reordered with custom software — thus mining blocks faster with hardware that takes advantage of this reordering. From block No. 149,500, you will not be able to get mining rewards without the new wallet software.
Please note that KIRINMINER ASIC and KirinPool users are not required to do anything for this update.
